Sports Car Market Roughly Halved...

If you were wondering why BMW and Toyota even contemplated collaboration in the first place perhaps Ian Robertson has the answer...

Quote:
“The sports-car market is roughly half of what it used to be,” Ian Robertson, BMW’s head of sales, said in an interview at the manufacturer’s headquarters in Munich. “Post-2008, it just collapsed. I’m not so sure it’ll ever fully recover.”

I always wondered why these partnerships happened, especially when it came to the FRS and BRZ. Thanks for posting this.

So without the cost sharing it is just too expensive given the consumer demand? At least they are still finding ways to produce them then.

That is what i'm getting from this and with that too much of a risk.

Going about it this way, they cut their losses from the start and set a good foundation where if it does take off they reinvest in it, just one big test.

Its weird because regular sports cars are declining but super cars that are way expensive are doing better than ever. Just shows the middle class is shrinking.

Unfortunately that is the case, I read that it will only get worse in the coming years especially as we step more and more into the robot age where robots will be able to do a lot of tasks that buisnesses need them to do.
There will be a big divide between the rich and the poor.

Just try to make sure you are on the rich side and not the poor side.
