The V12 Toyota Supra

Just wanted to share this video I came across of a one of a kind Supra. This monstrous V12 Supra has a maximum speed of 222.6mph, and is approximately generating 930hp and 745lb-ft of torque. It was previously estimated to be worth around $500k, but was recently sold at an auction for $80,700. Quite a bargain imo. https://youtu.be/0qjC4ZLHtOM

That car was legendary because it was Smokey Nagata's trademark Supra and it's not everyday you see a 1000hp car. I though it was being auctioned off last year? Did TrapTeam purchase it?

Yeah this Supra is pretty well known, and its surprising that it was sold off in the first place. I think it could have easily fetched more than $100k. Wonder if we'll see some similar one off builds of the new MKV.

As nice as it is coming from a legendary tuner from Japan, i'm disappointed that it sounds so tame.
Thankfully someone else unleashed the potential that same V12 had hiding:

Definitely doesn't sound like what I was expecting from a V12. Although it wasn't rev'd up very high. Like the solo mid exit exhaust.

Safe to say you never heard many V12's because much like engines of different segments they all have some distinctive sound to the point that just by hearing it in an audio clip, identifying what size engine it is, is possible. Here, this V12 sounds a lot like an Adventador.

I don't know about it sounding like an Adventador, but you are right that every V12 has its own distinctive note. I think you'd be hard pressed to find another Supra that sounds like this.

Financially it doesn't make any sense, 2JZ is the way to go in these especially with all the aftermarket support and interest around them.
That V12 has no support, everything required for high reliable power out requires custom work.

There isn't much point in investing in that older platform now, with the next generation model on the horizon anyways. It will always be considered a classic collectors car, but I don't think there is going to be as much interest in the MKIV once we get a confirmation date.
