"The saddle leather maintains that same ‘in the zone’ driving intention, while bringing in a more premium feeling. From color and trim standpoint in the FT-1, there was a laser-like focus on staying true to function,” said Wendy Lee, studio chief designer at Calty. “This project was very special, as the FT-1 stands apart in its performance-driven, authentic purpose.” Sellene Lee moved away from the typical stitching or piping edge treatment found in many vehicle interiors. The painted red edges on the welded leather and painted brown edges on the second FT-1 were inspired by high-end leather bags she found in an upscale department store. When drivers sit in FT-1, they can feel the difference in materials, textures and color choices that resulted from the team’s work.
The saddle is nice, but unfortunately this is little more than different boxes ticked. Many were expecting some kind of evolution at least...

Actually a SupraForums member and Lexus employee explained it quite nicely.

As we learn last month a Lexus official said the the production car will stay very close to the concept. I believe they said at least 90% of the stylings of the concept will carry over into production. Just wishful thinking, but maybe the same will happen with FT-1?

on a side note I like this exact color combination please
Meaning, the final design is most likely already frozen and it looks really similar to the concept so there isn't a need to make a second concept with different styling cues. (Example: FT-86 vs FT-86 II).

Love this Graphite color...Interior does look awesome, though I would still choose the first interior over this one.

I've seen quite a few pics already and believe this is regular sized car compared to the first concept which was 10% bigger. Can anyone confirm this?

Is that the Supra beside the Supra Vision Concept? Is this a screenshot from Gran Turismo 6?
