BMW Mule

Some are speculating this is BMW's mule for their half of the project...

Won't be surprised if this is indeed a test mule for the Z5, car makers do go about creating their test mules like this. Subaru/Toyota had something like this driving around a year before the BRZ/FRS came out.

Do you think people would notice if both BMW and Toyota claimed the 2 series was their new hyped sports coupe?

That's what Scott has hinted. Z3 would be the roadster, and Z4 would be its coupe equivalent (or is it vice versa?)
Hope for some of a Supra rag, or, at least a Targa/T top...

That sure would make sense.

I don't see it happening any other way, there's no way they can have 2 different small coupes/roadsters at this stage of the brand.

I don't think that a targa is going to happen. It would be cool, but I just think they will play it more safe with a rag top instead.

Convertible hard top would be even better for more of a premium feel although i'm not sure if that's something they would do as there are downsides to that.
