Difficulty of AC Compressor Replacement 2002 Avalon
I was looking for feedback on the difficulty of replacing a 2002 Toyota Avalon AC compressor.
I know I would have to have a trained professional remove all the fluid and reinsert it, but is the removal itself a pain?
I know some Toyotaís arenít too bad and some are a bit more challenging. Iíve been quoted $900-$1400, which given I can find the part for $200-$300 and have someone deal with the fluid for $100, I donít know if itís worth $500+ to have someone else remove the compressor.
I know a repair manual is the best answer to this question, but if Iím told it is a pain, then I have no choice but to bite the bullet and have someone do it. But if itís not that bad, then Iíll buy a repair manual and see if itís something I can do.
